Local AreaTendring is a peninsular on the east coast of North East Essex which incorporates Clacton, Harwich and Dovercourt along with a number of villages and coastal towns, including Walton-on-the-Naze and Frinton-on-Sea. The area enjoys one of the best climates in South East England and is known as the ''Essex Sunshine Coast''. The beaches have been recognised for their cleanliness and water quality through a Blue Flag and four Seaside Beach awards. As well as providing a range of sport and leisure activities, the peninsular is well known for its historical sites. The area has good rail and road links to London and Suffolk as well as links to the continent through the International Port at Harwich. Tendring Area Map
