About Tendring Hundred Primary SCITT

The Tendring Hundred Primary SCITT (school centred initial teacher training) course offers high quality postgraduate training, leading to the award of Qualified Teacher Status (QTS). The 38 week course combines practical school experience with professional training and gives a choice of age range: Pathway One 3-7 years (Early Years and Key Stage 1) and Pathway Two 5-11 years (Key Stages 1 and 2).

The school-based programme has been developed by a group of headteachers in the Tendring area and includes school experience, block teaching practices, seminars and tutorials. Training sessions are delivered at the Lead School, which is Chase Lane Primary and other partnership schools as appropriate. School experience and teaching practices take place in two different schools within the local area. There is the opportunity to visit other schools, nurseries and pre-school providers.
